Well folks – our first 2014 autocross went off without a hitch! Except for some rain on Sunday, we had a total of 44 cars on Saturday and 29 on Sunday. Sean, the Driving Events Chair and chair for the events, would have appreciated more cars – but that’s ok – everyone got 7 runs anyway. The course was fantastic, MANY people had a blast, and we all went home red…not due to envy, but due to sun. Ouch – bring sunscreen next time! (if you forgot like me…)
We also had the opportunity to enjoy some tasty lunch food – we were finally able to provide our own food! Quite a few novices learned the ropes on Saturday – loaner helmets made this much more possible. Congrats to the top novices on Saturday and Sunday – Alex Tran on Saturday, and Hank Harris on Sunday. Finally, Ned Neuhaus and David Nolan raked in the trophies for topping the best PAX times on both days – so congrats to them! We hope that all those that got trophies display them proudly – we will continue to have trophies at all of our events – so please come, compete and take home a trophy!
Results are available for those that attended (or for those that didn’t).
Mark your calendar for our next autocross on July 12!
A huge shout out to all the guys that made this autocross possible – many volunteers joined Sean early in the mornings and late into the evenings. Eric Wank, David Nolan, Aaron Nebergal, Butch Forkell, Georg Kirkilewski, Jacob Kocher and a special thanks to Mike Lane for preparing our food. And, of course, huge thanks to all those that worked the course with pride – autocrosses are only successful with all of your help!
